The Elafonisi Beach

The Elafonisi Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. Situated in the southeast corner of the island, the beach is quite isolated. You should bring your food basket for picnic. The Elafonisi beach is composed of several separate sandy beaches of a slight shade of pink and emerald waters. The inflections of the sand are because of the grounded coral, which earned him the nickname “Pink Beach” or “Caribbean Crete”.

The Navagio Beach

The Navagio Beach lies in the eastern part of the Island of Zakynthos and must be the most photographed beach, if not in the world, then surely in Greece. You can find a lot of pictures of this beach surrounded by steep cliffs. Its beauty is perharps accentuated by the fact that, being accessible only from the sea, the first impression is breathtaking.

A more natural and probably less crowded beach In Zakynthos can be found near Vassilikos It is a beautiful beach with clear and clean water. The Gerakas beach has several lounges, but there is no possibility to practice water sports. There are no bars and restaurants, only a few rock formations that protects against wind. The Gerakas beach is part of a protected national park especially because a rare species of turtle Caretta-Caretta. The turtles come out to the beach at night, but the access here is prohibited at night.

The Kastani Beach

The Kastani Beach is one of the top 5 most beautiful beaches in Greece and it is located on the west coast of the Island of Skopelos in the Aegean. It is different from the usual Greek beaches. Here you are surrounded by much of green, small groups of pines on cliffs and many flowers. There were many scenes filmed for the movie Mamma Mia and the town of Skopelos was awarded many times, being called the most beautiful traditional town of Greece.

The Porto Katsiki Beach in Lefkada was voted repeatedly as one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. Porto Katsiki means “goat port” and received this name because in the past only the goats could get here. More recently a gateway was designed and although it is not easy to reach it, it is worth the effort.  If you visit the Porto Katsiki Beach during the summer, try to do it on foot because the road is very busy and narrow and you might be stuck there. If you just want to take pictures or to take a look it would be more appropriate to embark a cruise boat departing regularly from Vassiliki and Nidri.
