The Oia Maritime Museum in Santorini

The traditional city of Oia has a specific Greek perfume, it is very welcoming and warm because of the people that live there.

The Oia Maritime Museum in Santorini is housed in an old villa. The building was renovated and modernized in order to be transformed into what it is today. Here you will discover many interesting things. The collections are containing old equipment used at sea, paintings, and beautiful designs. You can also see the old and new models of boats used on the area. If you wish, you can buy CDs containing all the information about tourist objective at the store attached to the museum. You can also buy souvenirs for your loved ones back at home. The Maritime Museum was founded in 1951 by Antonis Dakoronias, the captain of a cargo ship and initially was set up in his grandfather’s house.

The Oia Maritime Museum is opened to the public all year round. The schedule of visits is from 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00, but the museum is closed on Tuesdays. The price of a ticket is three euros.
