If you are planning some excursions and lush green places that is some short distance from the Rhodes City, you can consider Seven Springs. It is a charming place about 30 kilometers from the city on Rhodes with some magical yet amazing landscape. One great fun to have together with your children and check out the streamlet with nature and animals other than peacocks and ducks in the vicinity. There are waters from the springs for the entire year throughout, these spring waters ends in a small lake. Walk through the 186 meters narrow tunnel and it leads you to the lake. The Italians had built a dam to provide fresh water to Kolymbia, thus the existence of this lake. This is a great walking activity thus prepare yourself with a good pair of hiking shoes. Aqua shoes are great to walk through the tunnel too. With a ten inches deep fast running water, enjoy the ‘foot massage’ of the nature.

This place is just the right one for families with children and particularly so if you want a quieter holiday. In this manner, Kolymbia is also an ideal destination for couples. Expect sandy beaches that is so beautiful. You can try the self catering villas in the villlage with a traditional appeal. It is not a high profile resort, it is better described as a very green location with rolling mountains. One of the major road before you get to Kolymbia is the lush and fresh Eucalyptus Road built by the Italians during the occupation of the island. There are palm tree lining the beaches. Those sporty people can do water sports here in the day.

Other activities like snorkelling, swimming, tanning, fishing, lazing and relaxing on the sunbeds under the umbrellas. Other than this, you can rent a private boat and go round the island or visit Symi. If you have more time, you can visit Marmaris in Turkey nearby.

Even before the Roman times, Rodini Park had already been a very popular place. It was occupied by Romans and aqueducts as well as some buildings which you still can see today were built by them. This park has a large stream which you can cross by a small bridge. See those peacocks flourish and they are breeding there in this nature park naturally. Activities include rowing small boats and follow the slow flowing stream. Lots of birds, lizards, insects and unique flora awaits nature lovers and photographers.
