One of the busiest months is July for Greece tourism sector. Many tourists want to do island hopping in this month for the frequent flights and ferries availability. Many also enjoy the relaxing time on the beach and fun of the water sports that can be offer in the Greek climate of July. Other than the visits to the archeological sites, festivals and facilities that Greece has to offer, the hot climate on the mainland did not deter them. You will enjoy to see most of the restaurants, tavernas, water parks and cafes are open. Hotels and hostels, require pre-booking to avoid disappointment. Many people also choose to go to the coastal regions since it is cooler by the meltemi. For example Rhodes is popular with only 29­ºC averagely, it could get hotter for the month of July. In any case, be sure to pre-book flights, ferry and hotel. Since July is a high season, prices will be high, so be ready whether you are considering to take charter flights or regular flights.

July To Do

One way to explore the Greek islands is by sailing. It is cooler to do so in this month. The other way is renting a scooter instead of hiking from island to island. Scooters rentals are available at any car rental shops. Scuba diving is also a very popular activity, some people enjoy fishing while others snorkeling and water skiing. To do nothing, just chill on the beach and get a nice sun-kissed look. Be sure to bring with you enough suntan lotion and protect yourself from the harmful rays. Active people can have a go at the tennis courts in various resorts. If you have a group of friends, you may enjoy beach volleyball and the nightlife is great in Greece too. Clubs and cafes on the Greek islands are fun to join.

Rock fans or metal fans, Rockwave Festival near Athens is a not to be missed on the first weekend of July. The Hellenic Festival at Theatre Epidaurus offers ancient dramas and lots of cultural things to see. Visit Crete and see the city of Rethymnon, also have fun at the Renaissance Festival. A lot of other exciting events will be Erofilli theatre in Venetian fortress. For Cricket fans, Corfu is the place to visit in the Cricket Week. Be sure to pack your favourite items like shorts, jeans, denim Capri, tops, blouses, shirts, little summer dress, and most of all a comfy pair of shoes in your backpack and get ready to go to Greece in July!
