Fall Season or the Phthinoporon, Greek goddess of Autumn

If you are not enjoying the big crowded time when Greece is in its high season, it is nice to see the autumn in Greece. The fall season or the Phthinoporon is named after the Greek goddess of Autumn. This is also an off time other than the low season. You can expect an inexpensive travel during this time. Mostly retirees will be spending their spare time in Greece. Locally the population and people are more tired during this time of the year. This is partly because they worked a lot during the high season. So you will probably find the people there less enthusiastic when you meet them in the autumn. In the Greek mythology, Horae were the goddesses of the natural portions of time or goddesses of the seasons. And so the Phthinoporon, is the Greek goddess of Autumn.

Magical Autumn in Greece

It is considered a very colourful season, with lots of changes taking place. See the natural scenary of the landscape, it mutates step by step. From lightened yellow, to orange, and then gold. It surpasses the natural scenery, a beautiful and enchanting season to behold. Sometimes there are rain and wind, there is a lucid sun that mixes in. What you get is a moody tint of grey clouds. Making the alternating romantic side of yours inhaling in the scent of Autumn. Continental Greece has many ideal resorts to visit and you can watch these miracle of nature in amazement.

Prefectures of Districts to Visit

There are many Prefectures of Districts to visit during the autumn season such as Kastoria, the natural settlement of Prespes at Florina, the Katerini, the Halkidiki and the wonderful town of Kavala. Also see the district of Thessalia such as the scenic Tembi, the Pello, the traditional Zagor and the skirmished Makrinitsa, the Millies and the Portaria. The other must see the district of Ioannina, the Zagorohoria and the Papigo.

Still there are people telling you it is the best time to see Greece in Autumn. You can get to relax more and have a more enjoyable vacation compared to the busy Summer. There will not be crowded beaches, crowded places everywhere with tourists and backpackers and families. Ancient sites will not be so swarming pack with groups. And a big plus is that it is really easier to book accommodations in Autumn.
